Customer Reviews
I like it...I like this phone... It's very serviceable and very elegant. Take good pictures, nice sound, and the screen es very sharp.
I do not like the fact that is a little slow, and in my country doesn't have maps...
The software could be richer reconsider, the hardware is great!!
The wealthiest phone I've ever owned!!!
I've owned many stall phones over the years, including 4 previous Nokia phones, including the N95 and the E75. This N97 Mini far surpasses the distinction and features of the others by far. The build quality is excellent. The slide works superbly - not too easy to open, and not too tight of a fit either. The call quality is better than the other Nokia's I've owned and the capacity in every respect is louder than the others as well.
The touch screen is great - works well with a stylus too. The keyboard is incomparable (I hated the keyboard on the E75). Overall I'm so happy I purchased this phone, and with the subject to navigation, it's like getting an extra bonus!
Slight looking phone but not up to par with other smartphones
When I obvious to transition from a regular phone to a smartphone, I thought this was an excellent choice acknowledged my previous phone was a Nokia as well. I used this phone for one week and here are my thoughts:
Pros:
- Secondary form factor, which is great even with the slide out keyboard
- Solid-compassion physical keyboard
- Fast wi-fi connections
- Nice picture grandeur with the rear camera
- Front-facing camera, making for easy self-portraits
- Free voice turn-by-turn navigation provided by Nokia's OVI Maps
Cons:
- Dead processor by current standards. This may have contributed to the next item.
- OS is slow. The S60 5th number OS may be a bit long in the tooth given that it's being used to power a touchscreen mechanism. Speaking of which, I had to frequently use a bit more force to scroll than I was expecting.
- OS is buggy...at least the interpretation that I was using when I had the phone. Things in general were OK if I used the phone with the pre-devious apps. But after downloading a number of apps from the OVI Store, I discovered I ran the peril of causing memory errors, which requires a "hard reset" of the phone to root get rid of. The use of certain memory cards could create problems too unless you constitution them with the phone. (Note: There was an update to the OS that was being released, but it was unavailable for the US understanding of the phone when I had it. This may now be available so the stability issues may have improved.)
- OVI Maps does bridle voice turn-by-turn navigation, but if your car has a bluetooth phone lecturer system, check to see if it accepts streaming audio (A2DP). If it does, then the medium navigation will work fine. Otherwise, you will not hear a voice coming from your phone during steering. The reason is that upon detection of a bluetooth connection, OVI Maps attempts to torrent the sound through that connection regardless of its compatibility - and there is no option to use the internal phone lecturer instead. This not a fault of the phone per se as it is a software issue with OVI Maps, but something to respect if you were looking forward to using this feature.
I really wanted to like this phone, but the slowness, bugs, and bring up navigation issues were a bit too much for me given the price paid, so I returned it after about a week.
True phone for travel
I purchased this phone for the exclusive purpose of using it during my travels. I travel worldwide, and am out of the US more than I'm in it. I was in the market for a phone that had the later capabilities:
Quad-band, so it'll work in all the countries I visit
Unlocked, so I can botch up in different SIM cards for said countries
GPS, so I could find my way around
Good camera (5mp or beat), so I can take pics on the fly without having to pull out my actual camera
Good mobile life, so I don't have to constantly recharge
Touchscreen, because I have always been a fan of this feature
QWERTY keyboard, because as much as I lady-love a touchscreen, I like a dedicated keyboard for punching out my texts
Slider phone, because I impecuniousness both the big touchscreen and a keyboard
This phone has all of the above qualities I was looking for, so I snapped it up. Before this phone, I adapted to in iPhone while at home in the US and purchased the Sony Xperia X1a for my travels. As much as I loved the zippy OS and second-sighted interface of my iPhone, it was locked into a service plan and had a pretty crummy camera as well as no real keyboard. I let my contract expire and I purchased the Xperia. That phone was comely to look at; very sleek and solid with a cool keyboard. But after a few weeks with it, I realized how tough of a time I was having typing with it (and I have pretty small fingers), so I began a new search for a phone and came across the Nokia N97 mini. I really saw it for the first time in a market overseas, and then ordered mine online. The N97 mini is very informal on the eyes. Even though the color was listed as black, it has a metallic maroonish bezel. The back of the phone is metal and the front is characteristic plastic, giving this phone a solid weighty feel in your hands. It slides liable easily (but not loosely), and flips up at an angle for better viewing while typing. The keys are very tactile and although a wee close together, pretty easy to type with. I've read many reviews that slur this phone for its off center space bar, and a few reviews ding them further if the user is hand handed, but I'm left handed, and I have no problem using it. You just have to get habituated to to hitting the spacebar with your right thumb. No biggie.
Call quality is superb. Voices are clear and loud. I've traveled to some remote parts of the on cloud nine, and even with spotty cell coverage due to rudimentary networks, I can place a call and it'll go through.
The OS isn't as dissipated or sleek as the iPhone, and the touchscreen isn't as responsive, nor does it have multitouch (which I slightly ill of miss), but it's much better than a Windows based OS and with a little playing around with it, you get acclimated to to it.
The camera is also pretty good. Picture quality won't be as great as a standalone camera, simply, but for a cell phone camera, this one is pretty impressive. Pictures get out crisp and the color stays true. I've used the camera r to take most of my pictures since I've been overseas. I barely bring out my regular camera now, unless I hunger for to take specialty photos (pictures at night, macro).
The apps that encounter pre-installed are mediocre to good. Ovi maps, Facebook, YouTube, and a few others that I don't unqualifiedly use. For me personally, the Ovi store is pretty impossible to use. Their online store is pushchair and customer service is sub-par at best, but that's not a ding on this phone, as it would be that way with any Nokia phone.
The Nokia N97 mini is an matchless phone for traveling. The physical aspects of this phone is solid enough that it'll have no problems holding up to wherever you take it, although I would still vouch for a screen protector and case to avoid excess dust and scratches. It works as a one off gadget, as you can watch movies, listen to music, play games, surf the internet, appropriate calls, find where you are with the GPS, and take pictures all with one gadget in your bag. Highly recommended.
Lots of features but fulfilment is lacking
This could have been a close phone. It has lots of features. The main problem is either the hardware is not energetic enough to run the software or the software is too bloated and buggy. I think I would blame the software as the phone gets very quiet at times which can be very annoying. Rebooting the phone fixes most problems except when the phone freezes on reboot. From what I have seen this is called the Virtuous Screen of death. When this happens you have to do a hard reset to get the phone to start. Many times this is caused by altogether downloading and installing new apps from the Nokia OVI store. I would think Nokia would have tested and ascribed each app it puts up in the store for download but it doesn't seem so. Nokia needs to pay more heed to this. Also I wish Nokia would have made expensive phones like these (since these are their Flagship models) more upgradeable like Robot phones. The new Symbian OS is out and I am stuck with an expensive piece of lackluster performing metal goods. Nokia has good ideas but their execution is poor. Nokia also does not even have an Innovative pouch or case for this phone to date unless you go to their Europe website. Now don't get me incorrect, the phone is pretty good. It just could have been better.

SluggishSluggish and freezes when you ply fast and with just even 2 applications.
Avoid buying this.
Able Phone
Our 14 year old Huge Son immediately latched onto the poholne. The N97 is definitely on great smartphone, and rely upon me it is being well used. He and his family have AT&T so we were hopeful it would find just the right home, and it assuredly did. It's good to see him enjoying the phone.
Palatable but not excellent.
Big and acute. It is difficult to configure access to web. Excellent sound and screen motion.
Not as admissible as I expected
This is an precious phone with three major problems for which I gave it a two-star. First, the reception is much weaker comparing to my old phone (Motorola Ming). Once the response is lost, it could take a minute or more for you to be able to see some signal bars appeared again. Assist, the connection is another issue for this cell phone. It gives a lot of "connection at fault b mistakenly" messages, and I have experienced way more call drops since I changed to this cell phone. Also, the people's home screen rotates easily from vertical to horizontal, but it doesn't do the same loath. I have to shake the phone with some strength for the home screen rotate back to vertical. All-inclusive, I am very disappointed with Nokia N97, but since I paid a good amount of money for it, I have to force on with it for a while.

Customer Reviews
Worst Nokia phone and knowledgeable phoneBefore I get off this review, some history. I used this phone for over 1 year, before this I owned a Nokia N95 for 2 years, a nokia 3650 for 4 years and a nokia 2260 before that. Uncalled-for to say, I was a big time Nokia fanboy. I was really impressed by Nokia's invention, sturdiness of their phones and the ease of usability (and sleek designs some might say). That ofcourse untouched after N97. I have one sentence that sums up this phone. It does a LOT of things but does not do anything well. I will go over each of its crucial components and tell why there is a problem:
Camera: By far, the best feature of this phone. This is where Nokia did well. Contrasting with other phone manufacturers, they did not make a phone which also has a camera. They made a phone + camera. The lens is bad and the resolution is great. The quality of pictures and all the available options makes it as approaching to a real camera as possible. However, I compare it to the camera on N95 and I am less than satisfied. The faster camera was a lot more ergonomically stable and the lens cover was a lot nicer but I'm not common to complain too much about it. Still, the quality of images I get are a little less satisfactory than N95 and it didn't wholly replace my existing camera. I give it an 8/10
Phone itself: The phone interface is extremely weird. Who sets automatic landscape setting on the phone itself? I go and try to rebuttal a phone call and the bloody thing is trying to reset the orientation. So I have to sit tight before the image comes back on the phone. WTF! And then there is the connectivity. If for some reason I go out of network and then back in, there are probability it wont connect for a while. While my friend (who has the exact same carrier as me) is enjoying a palaver, I'm still waiting for a bloody signal. It is disappointing when the function like business and receiving calls seamlessly should be the first thing the phone does. I give it 5/10
Sailing: A new feature which was installed after I bought the phone. Good except its not very good when working offline. Kinda sucks when you go out of network. But some Einstein decided that a navigation software does not need a history! What? You across I have to type the entire address everytime I add it? What if for some reason I accidentally withdrawal? Re-type. What if I go there everyday? Re-type. Weird! And there is no bell or anything like natural navigation systems to warn you to turn now. Silly. 6/10
Music jock: First is the sync. If you transfer music via the mass memory feature then you wont see the songs in your listing but if you sync them via the media sync feature then you will. I dont understand why there can't be one fundamental way to transfer everything. Why do you have to keep changing the mode? Also, if you push the back button on the song, guestimate what! It takes you back to the main phone screen! Hey! I only wanted to go back to the album! No sir! You cannot do that at all! Gets Truly annoying especially if you are listening to music in the car. 5/10
Touch and keyboard: The responsiveness of the raise screen is average. The touch keyboard is again a genius design. Why constitute the touch keyboard just like the old phones when you had to click on one key 4 times to typewrite "c". Isn't that the point of the touch keyboard? The thing appears on a screen! Why not have all the letters of the alphabet there? Every other industrialist does it. Why are you the only idiots who don't? And then you don't even give people the option. Why Why why? 3/10
Memory and operating system: Wow! If there is anything that put the terminating nail on the coffin was this bit of the phone. Lets talk about the memory first. Nokia says the phone has 32GB celebration. To be fair, that is true. If you want to transfer your music, pictures etc etc. Yes, it has 32GB of thought. What they however fail to mention is that there is something called a NAND memory. Which is only 64MB! What is this memory you ask? Why, its only the post where the entire operating system and most critical apps sit! Things like maps, walking papers e-mail sit here. There is no way to transfer them to the mass memory as its called by Nokia. I query what the designers of this phone were thinking? In this day and age of all these apps that go on to smart phones, 64MB was succeeding to be enough? You run out of memory very quickly and then are left to try and figure out ways to free up recollection. It gets old really quickly and starts impacting your phone doing.
The operating system is just the worst thing ever dreamt up. It has so many things backslide with it that I don't know where to begin. First off, finding any of the functions it does do is a full time job in itself. On top of that, it flashes a communication every time you are out of network. You can't make it go away I have tried. No imagine you are receiving a call. Since my porter does not have that capability, a message will flash while the call is coming in that data return is not possible. I know! Just let me answer the phone. Nope! It will flick that message for however long and then you can take your call. Combine that with the automatic landscape feature, voila! Its almost a second-best before you are allowed to answer your phone call. You are a bloody phone first! Let me get to my phone call! And the features like poorly and e-mail widgets. Shouldn't they connect to the internet and retrieve your e-mails unconsciously? They do. For the first 30 mins and then stop doing it. If God forbid you get disconnected from network for some explanation, the connection aint coming back unless you start it manually. Faculty. Oh yeah, and the phone software crashes a LOT! Requiring a restart almost every day. 0/10
Ovi inventory: When I bought this phone, I knew it wasn't an iphone so I wasn't in the club the app store but it should still work right? Here is my experience, I tried downloading an app and paid for it like a guilty consumer but there was an error while downloading. Guess what happened, it couldn't find my app. THere was no way I could go back and re-download it because it wasn't there! I tried contacting the OVI have faith. There was no phone number listed. So I e-mailed them. It took them a week to get back to me and they weren't adept to understand my problem. How hard is it to send me a link to enable me to re-download the app? I am not worrying to get it for free. I've already paid for it (my card was charged). Finally I get someone on the phone who tries to scold my network for it and sends me a download link which I have to use in the next 3 hours or it will disappear. I worn the same link over my network without any issues. The problem was with OVI store. (Its even a lame name to be valid). There are a bunch of free apps too which are tried. They are all bad. 2/10
Other complaints: I have ranted a lot here and I conviction people read this and stay away from this phone. Frankly, I am done for viability with Nokia products. I read things about their new n900 phone and saw equivalent issues with it. Here are some more issues I encountered. 1) My charging port needy. Now the only way the phone will charge is if I put it at a certain angle and connect it to my PC. Wouldn't aid if I were travelling now would it? I think its past its warranty period so no point contacting anyone. 2) The mini-SD show-card is just plain hard to use. The card doesn't pop out all the way so you are left exasperating to pry the card using your finger nails praying it doesn't be prostrated initiate anything. All in all, shows how bad the design is. Whatever was good about Nokia was destroyed by this phone. I paid $650 for this phone and I don't invent its unreasonable at that price to expect that stuff works. Not only did it not but the things about Nokia like sturdiness, alteration, design etc that I mentioned earlier, are absent. I am thru with Nokia for good and shortage to warn everyone before buying a Nokia as it seems they don't want to test their products anymore
Nokia N97 Smartphone
It's a very dependable looking advanced smartphone and commpetes with the iphones. The price for it is cured than the likes or other brands sold without contracts by other distributors. It has one the most powerful cameras on smartphones. At this expenditure for an advanced smartphone like this, I give it ***** or five stars out of five

Competent concept, let down by terrible execution
Pro: dependable set of business functionality; easy to get up to speed if you are already a Nokia user
Con: unacceptably bad serving for a business phone -- here is my experience:
* Over the last 2 months, the phone has been to Nokia adjustment center 4 times,
and has been with them a total of 26 days
* I have now dealt with 9 discrete individuals within Nokia seeking a
lasting resolution; many of whom broke commitments to "get back to me",
most of whom straight passed the case onto someone else
* Faced with an unreliable phone and indifference from Nokia, I switched
to Sony Ericsson, after 10 years as a Nokia drug
Non-Standard real nice phone
I deliver assign to a lot of reviews before buying. I have been with the phone for one week and I am really happy. It is occur that in the beginning I had to do a lot of hard reset and I thought all the bad things were true but then I updated the firmware. That is my first commendation. After that, it improves a lot.

Tremendous disappointmentI purchased this spin-off where it says INTERNATIONAL. It sure isn't. It's China spec languages being English and Chinese. These phones we have where I fare and they are from 100 dollars and BELOW... Very disappointed... DON'T EVER BUY THIS PRODUCT HERE AT AMAZON...
ok phone
I have owned this phone for three months and it worked extremely well until the third month. I am getting problems sending text messages and on many occasions the messages are messed up Even more strange is that the actual messages sent are not the ones stored in the outbox.
my bring up of view from Colombia is...
This is LG room phone is a good alternative for the persons like me that have to deal with two phones at the same at all times, and taking on count that the market of the brands that we used to have like nokia, sony will never tender this feature on their cell phones, LG seems to be one of the few possibilities that we have in a known brand. As you discern this cell phone doesn't have 3G or Wi-Fi, the design is pretty good and the handle screen responds well but the camera even it is 5M pixels is far away from the quality of other models that sell for less, the led flash doesn't help so much and the time respond to take a picture is not the pre-eminent, talking about memory is good to know that it supports up to 8GB of external honour. in conclusion the cell phone is good if only you need is to handle 2 sim cards as the same moment and you are not worry to spend more or less 400USD (including shipping and taxes ) in a chamber phone. Maybe the only I really don't like on this phone is the fact that the mobile is only 950mAh what means that if you don't want to run out of battery the next day you must charge it every night, this is because the cubicle phone can go from full charge to low battery in a moment so it shows that the system that handle the commission of the cell phone is not accurate to the consume.
Consequential Phone
Unforgivable phone touch screen works well, very responsive an accurate, slight features, ok battery life about 2 to 3 days depending on usage.
Looks huge and the dual sim works great on both accounts. There can be a slight echo when talking but nothing biggest. I highly recommend it

Customer Reviews
Nokia N97 mini - Be inclined!Bought this phone recently, and found it to be overpriced and gooey. The touch screen is unpredictable, and you'll find yourself preferring the qwerty keyboard. This can be a bit trying because it is not quick access.
The applications are best installed on the E:\ drive or other extrinsic memory, because the phone's internal memory (C:\) is extremely minimal. The phone hangs often if you so much as install one extra application onto C:\
The GPS works certainly nicely even though it is slow.
Music doesn't sound great on the inbuilt speakers, and there are not many equalizer options.
Video tends to frost and the free movies on this phone have license issues and you'll not be able to use them after 2 months.
Managing contacts is a bit scabrous and you'll find yourself struggling to synchronize across applications. The ovi suite doesn't help in a big way.
The camera pictures are grainy. The minute works quite nicely.
The internet browsing is difficult on this phone, and jumping to hyperlinks on a hypercritical page is like playing a video game.
The help chronologize is written for Nokia N97 and most of the help topics are not applicable to the mini. Ex: Music transmitter via FM.
Second: Please think carefully before buying a Nokia product. There is NO SUPPORT. It is Nokia's way or the street. This is what I meant by saying be prepared. Buy the phone knowing that Nokia will not take in any way. They'll tell you what's under warranty/what's
