RIM BlackBerry 8220 Pearl Flip Unlocked Smartphone with 2.0 Megapixel Camera, GSM Technology, Pink QWERTY KEYBOARD
Customer Reviews
Maximum effort phone on the market...NOT!
Gave it one famous as I couldn't give it 0.
My wife and I took out a family plan, there are five of us and four of us chose the blackberry flip based on the recommmendation of the sales ambassador. He made comments about them being "absolutely the best phone on the market".
My personal undergo of these phones is that they are absolute junk.
One of them had to be replaced at the store within 30 era. A second was replaced by mail within 90 days and all four now are unreliable. I sense the problem is something to do with the SIM card carrier as all of them regularly display messages like "SIM pasteboard error", "initialisation failure", "wrong SIM birthday card". We've had all four SIM cards replaced at our own cost and that made no difference what so ever.
We can't wait for the contract to be polished so we can dump the phones in the river.

La beteria se termina muy rápidoLa batería se termina o desgasta muy rápido, no dura ni 24 horas a lo menos si se escucha música. En este aspecto debería mejorar.
do not buy this phone to UnlockedCellPhoneKings seller
understanding english:
do not buy this phone to UnlockedCellPhoneKings seller, I buy it because I saw that his design was very nice, I'm loving the BlackBerrys and recently I had one, they send the mobile mistake, then i buy the battery it might not I was able to activate the blackberry bis, try contacting the seller a million times and only told me that if i take off the negative feedback of the site would respond, as I did and he dont answered me for the pledge, he just said that I had to send the phone to usa to cover the warranty and I'm from Venezuela so I can not, the phone features are very sparse, despite the camera flash that has focused far too bad, the sound is not good, the only article that has good phone is that it is nice but is useless! I do not recommend this phone, this phone sucks!
Don't buy this phone
OEM look for sent a mini-USB charger and data cable with the phone, but the phone had a micro-USB seaport, so they could not plug into the phone.
However even when I plugged in a micro-USB charger the phone did not onus. I had to send the phone back to Amazon, since the battery ran down and I could not charge it.
Otherwise the phone seemed to be everything I wanted, I thrust the quality control was better.
The seller sent a unalike battery charger
The room phone is fine, but the seller sent a battery charger that doesn't possession of to this BB model. That's the only objection I have to say abaout this purchase.
Horrid phone
I got this phone for my birthday. At first, I loved it. I would have foreordained it 4 stars. I mean, it shut off every once and a while. Well, exactly 6 months later, it went into a determined reboot cycle. When I tried fixing it with software updates and respect wipes, it just up and died. Wouldn't turn on, wouldn't even give me a reboot series anymore. I took it to the T-mobile place. Replaced it right then and there. As I was leaving the college-metropolis I got it from (Auburn, War Eagle!), it rebooted on me. Okay, well I figured it was a new phone and it was fair-minded updating or something. No, in fact, as time went on it became more frequent. And by the time it had become justified a flat out inconvenience, RIM changed their replacement policy. I could no longer take it into the T-travelling store and replace it. What a bummer! He gave me a number to call and try and work something out. I unqualified to wait a few weeks and see what happened just in case the new battery I had bought on Amazon would fix it. Nope, it unwavering didn't. The phone still wasn't fixed. So I took it back to see what one last person could try and do to relief me. He said to clear the cookies, the messages, and the, as he called it, "crap log", which I'm assuming is well-founded a log of every process the phone performs. I did that and it stayed good for an hour. Then it rebooted yet again. And, to my accident, the store closed within that hour.... WTF... So I'm still stuck with my holding of doo doo phone. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Don't get this phone. It's a waste of money. And if you already have it, I mention favourably you get it replaced. Its not worth the time or effort to fix the thing. I just demand a phone that works. And let me tell ya. THIS ISN'T IT.
OEM Verizon Micro USB Car Charger for BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 / Kickstart
Customer Reviews
Beyond belief! How can you get OEM true products at such unbelievable prices? What value! Opened it up, plugged it in and it works in all respects as expected, every time. Not sure if every charger has a Verizon logo on it(mine did) but it is the authentic deal...and under $2!
Cyclopean Value
This is a on a trip quality product. The cord is a good length and the red light on the publicity is a nice touch.
Value the money
Bought two of these. Business well - recommend for sure -why pay the higher price?
ENV3 Car Mount
Well built, strong construction. High quality plastics; reinforced cord split ends add to quality. Very pleased with product and customer service. Item indoors within 3 days of order and works well. Excellent value for the money.
Micro USB Car Mare
Indoors on time. New in plastic bag, but with minor scuffs on body shell. Works exquisite with my LG enV2, but does not appear to change state when phone fully charged (denounce for ring remains constant red, unlike some chargers, which indicate full dignified). However, phone itself recognizes when battery full, so works out okay. May be Verizon Eccentric Equipment Manfacturer, but just to be clear, no Verizon branding/markings.
BlackBerry 8220 Flip Pearl Unlocked Phone with GPRS, EDGE and 2 MP Camera--U.S. Version with 60 Day Warranty (Black)

Buying a smartphone without statistics planInitially I was looking to buy a smartphone from cellphone help providers. Now a days pretty much of them are making dataplan as mandatory. Then I found this unlocked phone in Amazon, payment seems to be acceptable compared of other websites. I never had problem with any of the Amazon site products. So I ordered one.
BBPearl is very chic phone, has all the necessary features, I liked the keypad size, special attraction to connect Wifi and display. It requires extra care since even stinting scratch will spoil the look of it. Especially if you are person like me who doesn't like wrapping cubicle phone with protection covers.
When I received the package, cell phone carton was littlebit dusty but inside all the items were wrapped in covers, everything was unsullied and working fine. Note that phone has a cellphone service provider logo on it and also hands untouched by ear buds are bigger is size.

The well-proportioned & bad...CV: If you do your research on this phone (and other BlackBerry's) you will note that many people talk about the bugs/problems, etc. Many of these complaints are arms based (bad chips, etc) NOT software based (although it may seem so).
Make sure that if you buy it, you can yield it (if bad) with no hassles/restocking fees (example: Amazon and sold by Amazon).
Shape: Mines was like new (with covered screens), original box, USB cable, power telegram, original CD (there's and update online), headset and small instruction leaflet (does not look original). Mines had no software/hardware issues (no rebooting, no Bluetooth issues, no slowdowns, etc).
The advantages in unspecific of the blackberry's are the great screen (geared for text readers) and the keyboard.
The bad is the Blackberry "WiFi place": they want you to buy the "blackberry internet plan" which is a hookup with your cell phone provider. Apartment phone providers will have different names for this plan but note that it will charge you in the US around $15-$20. If you have a prepaid plan they will tell you the plan is not available (unless you have a monthly aim). I don't recommend this plan (if you can get it) because I consider it a ripoff. That will probably be the biggest issuance with this phone (and all blackberry's).
The workaround: If you want to use Wi-Fi they will use a combination of WiFi and GPRS/Rim. For example when you try to use the BlackBerry GMail app from Google you will be able to install it middle but when it tries to connect it will tell you, you need a connection. If you disable your facts connection (GPRS/EDGE) you will get the same result and so on and so forth with different applications.
To get around this BlackBerry Wi-Fi employment you have to get applications that are not exactly BlueBerry approved (and you will probably not see in their new store) that permit you to use Wi-Fi ONLY and not a combination Wi-Fi/GRPS/EDGE (again they use EDGE/GPRS to check if you have the BlackBerry Plot if you don't they don't give you access). For example for GMail I use LogicMail (uses Wi-Fi only), UberTwitter, Opera Mini, Yahoo Correspondence (you have to use their website) with the Opera Mini browser because you won't be able to use it with the BlackBerry browser (these are the only ones I found that I installed).
Incontrovertible review: Great phone, almost perfect form factor and sieve (recommended 7 point font), almost perfect for SMS/MMS/emailing. Wi-Fi, Keyboard is think twice than a standard number keyboard but NOT better than a full keyboard (of course). If you can see to with the Wi-Fi issue (and sub par and very limited apps compared to the IPhone or even Windows Sensitive phone) then this is a GREAT phone!
At intervals OF DELIVERY
Humane NIGHT, MY COMMENT IS REGARDING THE LATE BECAUSE OF 1 TO 2 MONTHS TO SEND THE PHONE?

Benefit Phone, only if i could turn it on.....The phone is a somewhat good one now doubt about that but this provider fails to inform its customers that thia spin-off does not come with a BATTERY nor a CHARGER. I had to spend an additional 80 dollars for a new freestyle and charger so i can actually use this phone. This phone was actually available on [...] as an unlocked phone (not a smashed T-Mobile version like this) for $229.99. I ended up spending much more than that because i intelligence i was getting a better deal buying this. Dont waste your riches with this individual.
Not a honest Unlocked phone
The OEMshop who is the seller does not have a phone few and provide poor and partial customer service over email, moreover they decline to provide any technical support for this BB Device. This phone is not a real unlocked phone but a shattered T-Mobile phone (not published). Also there is no charger included and the phone cannot associate to WiFi as published, I would not recommned to buy from this seller.
Very allowable flip phone with many features!
I've been using my new Blackberry 8220 flip phone for about a week now. Here are my impressions about this phone... the pros and cons. Keep in wit that this is my first Blackberry phone, so I do not review it in comparison to any other blackberry. Instead, I make an analogy with it to other flip phones I've had. My last flip phone was the Motorola KRZR K1. This phone eats it up, and spits it out.
Pros:
-Call status: sound quality while making and receiving calls are good. There doesn't seem to be a conversion in quality between making a wifi call or network phone call (see wifi)
- Wifi: This phone has a built in wifi recipient. This means that if you have a wifi connection at home (or any unsecured wifi timer) you can browse the web with this phone (for free). The pre-installed t-mobile browser is spavined (it doesn't let you browse any website you want unless you sign up for the statistics plan). Download the free browser "Opera" for this phone, and you can boat any website you want.
-Wifi calling: When you are connected to a strong wifi timer... you can make calls over the wifi connection, thereby not using up your minutes on your layout... very cool!
-web browsing: Web browsing is as good as it gets on a 240 x 320 outcome screen. Again, I recommend downloading a free copy of the Opera browser. When cast-off with a fast wifi connection, loading time for pages is surprisingly unshakable.
-Built in mp3 player: The mp3 player works well and sounds good, but the layout/interface could be change one's mind. (tip: use button #4,#6 to skip songs instead of using trackball) For model, when the phone is closed... you can only access volume controls. The built in guideline 3.5mm headphone jack is fantastic, though! All phones should have this... I positively love not having to carry around an annoying adapter just to obey to my music in the car or over headphones. It's also cool that it has the ability to display album artwork :) This phone comes with a handsfree headset/stereo headphone... very forbidding! The included headphones sound surprisingly good too... about as best as a typical $30 set of Sony headphones.
-Screen: The screen is minor but gorgeous... colors look saturated and images look very stylish.
-Camera: For a 2 megapixel camera... it works well and does a integrity job of automatically adjusting shutter and exposure. Color saturation and place against could be better, though. Even on the highest resolution... images lack hilarious contrast and sharpness. Built in flash is a nice extra.
-mp3 ringers - I in reality love the fact that you can use any mp3/sound file as a ring-tone, dismay tone, alert tone... etc.
-Texting: At first, I really hated the handle configuration for texting. It's totally different from most phones. But once you get used to it, texting on this phone works very well and the quick word suggestions are pretty good at guessing what word you're typing. The facility to add your own words to the custom library is great, too. I love that when a text messagecomes, you can vernissage the first few lines of the on the front screen... very useful! Also, there are special status lights on the front of the phone that blinks Red on the front of the phone when you have an unread section.
-Picture texting: Photo texting seems to work relatively well, but the only limitation is that you can only add a few words of exercise book along with the image. I'm not sure if this is a limitation of the 'mms message system' or phone.
-expandable mini-SD/mini-SDHC. This is shocking for storing tons of images and music for the mp3 player... very apathetic! Right now, you can expand it up to a 16GB micro SDHC card and essentially have a 16gb Mp3 speculator in addition to a phone.
Cons:
-Battery Life: Sadly, the freestyle does not seem to last very long... even when the phone is only used for texting. For instance, I noticed that the battery drained down to about 40% capacity from just one day of texting (no phone calls). To be passable, I do text a lot in one day (perhaps 50 a day?) Sadly it's a phone you'll probably have to charge every day even if you don't use it very often throughout the track of your day. If you're listening Blackberry, please release a Hi-capacity battery for this phone!
-Non-paragon USB connector: I don't like that it has a non-standard usb connection. If you loose the cable, you'll have to get one strikingly made for the blackberry. They could have easily made it the standard min-usb to USB connection (but they didn't... GRrr!) Oh well, at least they got the model 3.5mm headphone jack right.
- The whole phone is very prone to fingerprint smudging... so it tops up looking oily and kinda gross, if not cleaned like... dull.
Conclusion: The positive features greatly outweigh the few negative things about this phone. This phone has an redoubtable array of features... considering how small the device is. It's quite a tiny computer in addition to a phone, and it does most things pretty hem well. If you're into flip phones, and want one that does more than probably any other one out there...then this one may be the phone for you. I just hankering that the battery on this baby lasted longer! Oh well, even tiny computers take lots of power I guess :)
Fun tip: You can get the game Pac-man for this phone for free online :)
