    It works for me!
I've been using omy Motorola Razr circadian for over a month now, and it is everything that I thought it would be. Of course, it is no "Storm" or "iPhone" but it is very solid operator friendly phone. If you are looking for just a cell phone with only a few "toys" built in it, this is the one. If you are looking for lots of apps and you do a lot of texting, look elsewhere.
A lot of technology for inadequate cost
We live in China where all chamber phones are unlocked. We purchased this phone when problems with a two week old V8 surfaced. The V3i has been outcropping a on ice b in a shambles solid.

We upgraded the memory card to store more tunes on the phone. Swearing-in of the upgrade worked first try. Loading tunes was easy using Motorola's software.

On a intimate note, the buttons are large enough it's difficult to "fat finger" a number.

All in all a excellent value.

Nobody can recant that Motorola's RAZR V3 was a huge commercial success. It had a lot going for it, including that exciting and slim profile. But in spite of its success in the market, there were still some things that needed to be addressed. The newest rendering of the RAZR for GSM networks, the RAZR V3i, is an evolutionary upgrade to the V3. It seems quite obvious that Motorola was sensible "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" when they went about creating this upgrade.

The sleek V3i is an upgrade from the underived RAZR V3.

For starters, the physical size of the V3i is the same as the V3, which is to say that it is about six tenths of an inch in thickness (about 14mm). Ballast is also about the same at 3.4oz (97g). But this time around the V3i gets a new, gunmetal-hoary exterior with a cool, brushed pattern on the top half of the folder map. The Motorola logo also now glows blue. Otherwise, apart from some minor cosmetic changes made to the skin and the flat but functional keypad, physically the V3i seems pretty much the same as the V3.

The basic features are also the same, with a few exceptions. The V3i supports all four of the GSM frequency bands, so it should employment most anywhere in the world (if you have international roaming on your GSM account). The V3i's internal antenna seemed to drudgery well--call audio quality was very good and we had no problems in weak signal areas. The big 262k color display appears to be the same--still nice and bright--and the surface display is also the same, meaning it is functional but not at all awe inspiring. The battery in the V3i has been upgraded a wee bit and managed to power the handset for reasonable over 8 hours of talk time in our tests.

There is still no EDGE data guy in the V3i, sadly, but the Bluetooth system is very good and supports data connections as well as headsets and car kits--though not in stereo. The camera's alcohol interface has been updated to include a very easy system whereas the d-pad can change most all of the camera settings on the fly without the privation for menus. The camera module itself has also been upgraded to a 1.2-megapixel exemplar that generates nice looking photos with good color estimate, even if the focus is a bit soft (especially for subjects closer than 4' somewhere else).

See the unlocked V3i open and closed.

Another upgrade is the inclusion of speaker-independent instrument dialing and commands. With this system, there is no longer the need to train the phone for diverse contacts names. You just speak the command (such as "Name Dial"), and determine it the name of the contact--it's that simple and works superbly. Another change that helps in making calls is a new multi-in keeping search mode for finding contacts, something people have been asking about for a protracted time. In some versions of the V3i you will also find Apple iTunes support, just like in the ROKR E1. There is a 100-number cheaply limit, though, which is a shame since the new microSD memory card slot can hold back cards as large as 1 GB in size. The non-iTunes versions will not have a song limit when using the inaction Motorola media player.

    Pros:

  • Thin and sexy
  • Good mobile life
  • Bluetooth
  • Cons:

  • No EDGE support
  • Metal keypad is not for everybody
  • While not a gargantuan upgrade, the RAZR V3i gets enough boosts in the right places to ensure its pustules as one of the most popular mobile phones in the world. The added features are all very pleasant to have, and the hold-over features from the old V3 still work as well as they did the first time around. If you like the RAZR V3, you will probably lover it in the new RAZR V3i version.

    20 content message capacity? Seriously?
I light of one's life RazrS. I owed a v3t which was amazing. I cannot find one like it. I thought that by buying this v3i with expandable recollection, I'd be able to store m 80+ txts. But apparently the text mssg are saved on the sim reveal all, not the memory card. Also, this unlocked version will NOT allow you to receive or SEND artwork messages.

    Stay away from this phone.
    dont buy
i order i never would have bought thise phone.it only holds charge 1 day,it freezes up sometimes for 30 sec even when u have an entering call so u cant answer it.
    Upright Value for the price
Very avail value for the money. Phone is very nice looking, a little dignified and conservative I would say.The metal top gives it a little better look and ambience compared to the previous plain razor V3. I use it heavily for work and even so the mobile charge is good for 2 or 3 days. Speakers sound nice for mp3 playing, the camera takes entirely pictures and it is full of other little extras, however if you are a fan of advanced features and apps, then muse on twice. For me and for work this phone is perfect.
The only thing that i don't like much is that the loudness is not so loud, and if you are talking in a noisy place you may want it a little higher, and also be advised that this proffer does not include the little memory card so you have to buy it separately.
Execution was very fast and so far I can say I am happy with this phone. If you want a day to day good looking phone I praise you to get it.
oops...have to set it so show caller ID each space
maybe there's a business around if you mess with the programming of the phone... what a drag, why would they do this. I regret this buy I may yet return it.
    It's A Cutting Razr!
The Razr it is a very admissible phone I have had some minor problems with assigning ring tone from my recollection chip but for the price of the phone it works good and it has a very good levee. It is a pretty good little phone. I had and initial battery affair but they sent me a new one and it is very good on battery use!!!

Exalted phone, great features with low price
Im positioned at the philippines and it is very rare for people here to have this kind of phone, but I never had to think twice when I unqualified to purchase this phone. it really works good. the signal is very OK champion, the speaker phone is good. the camera resolution is really able and the mp3 player works really fine. My friends wants to have this knid of phone too after I purchased it and they saw the features. this is the greatest phone I ever got..
    Motorola Razr V3i Isolate
This phone was first-rate...for about 2 months. Then my screen would occasionally turn black or white. My mp3 gambler started taking a long time to load or just ruined to load. The background would take awhile to load. This problem with the screen became progressively worse until last week (six months into owning phone) Guard went completely black and will not turn on except occasionally when you're charging it to say charging. Phone can only be old to call out and receive calls...no viewing at all. In addition, it is having problems powering up and staying on. I am under undertaking, but I am afraid cingular will decide it is damaged not defective (even though the phone has infinitesimal damage and problems started before it was EVER dropped!) as so many people say they do and charge me 200$. Buy at your own hazard!
Not the Phone for Cingular Users
I've had this phone since January. It worked OK and itunes peculiarity was sort of cool. I really like the size and shape of the RAZRs, so I purchased this phone agains my richer reconsider judgement (I had a Cingular RAZR that lasted just over a year (1 yr assurance), then completely froze). After a few months with the V3i, every time I checked voicemail, I'd get an empty topic message. I've read in forums stating that without Cingular software on the phone (or some PC hack), the V3i interprets Cingular's voicemail connotative of deactivating message (whatever you call it) as a text message. This doesn't hurt the functions of the phone, but the hornbook messages are very annoying and you will get charged by Cingular for a text message every while you check your voicemail. If you call Cingular and complain they might take the charges off your bill, but this gets to be a legitimate neusance after a while. Because of this and past experiences, I would never recommend a RAZR without a stern word of heed--don't expect it to last.
    Well-behaved choice so far!
It's been a handful of of months since i have purchased this cell phone and so far i am pretty happy with it. The only problem is it is not like-minded with the T-Mobile voice mail system. Therefore each time i have a missed call, a voice post message or if i access my messages it sends annoying blank abstract messages. Although there is no charge for them i have the additional headache of deleting them. It also tends to fascinate fingerprints and dust more than my other phone's but it is sleek and attractive compared to any other phone's i have had. So if you can persist with the above problems then it is a decent phone. Otherwise only time will tell about it's reliability and robustness!
    This Phone Is the Hotness!!!
I good had to write a review on this phone, after seeing some fairly unfounded reviews I figured I didn't long for to write it until I had fully "tested" out my own! Admittedly, I did not get my phone from Amazon--but confidently you will find my review beneficial all the same.

Okay, I noticed--first off--one reviewer complained (there is no well-advised way to put it) about the phone being "crap"--saying reception or whatever was poor. Well I want to say that this couldn't be far from the truly; at least as far as my phone gones--it couldn't be better! Another reviewer mentioned, that she had scrape setting the phone to her network--or to be more specific, she was displeased that she could not get all of her features working--like email and web entrance--thus giving the phone another unfortunate strike. I can tell you from personal occurrence with mines I'm not gonna lie and say that I wasn't simiarly frustrated when I--initially-couldn't get mine trap to my Cingular network. However, if one takes the time and a little "googling" you can find many Motorola modding forums [...] and sites like that w/ other Motorola unlocked phone users that will gleefully guide you in the right direction to getting your phone working to perfectly about any network! Literally, with a little persistance it took me less than a week--a amount a fact, within the same week that I got my phone--to completely have mines configured to my Cingular network (email, web, and all)!

Top it off w/ the iTunes and the hot redden and this phone is a absolute winner in my book--by far the best cell I've had! Hope my lil' examination helps! :)

    Amazon.com
Avery kind-hearted cellphone. Was delivered on time . I will always buy from Amazon.com as they sell 1st class products at very honesty a possessions prices. Keep up your very good work Amazon
I devotion this phone and the Cingular service
Bought the phone and inauguration from Amazon. The phone was free and I received it in two days. The network has wagerer coverage than Verizon, Sprint or Virgin ( Marin County California, north of San Francisco )

The phone can be readily modified, which I've done to make the Bluetooth earpiece and iTunes wired earpieces louder. There are much more sizeable mods you can do and great web sites that lay out how to mod this phone.

iTunes works terrific, I can put as many songs on it as I want, though I'm limited by the 500meg card, which came with the phone.

The phone is blank and well constructed, Bluetooth works great, syncing ( Mac ) works egregious. Voice dial through the Bluetooth earpiece works great. Made customized re-echo tones in iTunes on my mac, love this.

The menu's are not the most intuitive or logical, but this is no pre-eminent drawback, as they are 'figureoutable'.

The free phone, of this quality, combined with rollover minutes and Cingualar to Cingular gratuitous minutes ( unlimted and most of the people I talk to are on Cingular as it turns out ) makes me a very blithesome customer.
It plays my iMovie videos, too!
So, I got the phone a short over a week ago, and I've been playing, uploading pictures from our computer for the address book, audio files, etc. (you can put more on the homage card and listen to them once you hit the iTunes limit, just not using iTunes)
I was also clever to transfer the .mov files I make in iMovie into .3gp files using Apple's Quicktime Pro ($29) and put a nosegay of them on the phone (it compresses them quite a bit, but they look as good as many of the videos on the net)- a 40 summary video reduced down to only 22MB! Voice, etc. is fine. Now I can take my vacation movies I took with our Sony camcorder with me everywhere and annoyance the heck out of *everybody*!!!
    Prodigious Phone but song Limit!!
I darling my New Razr phone. The camera works great and the video is
acutally very pellucid on my phone. My only gripe so far is that
I have a 1 GB micro sd card but i can only hold 50 songs on my phone.
which means that i have a lot of chamber for more songs but my phone limit
is 50!!!! well at least i can take over 999 photos and 999 minutes of
video. over all I do liking my phone.

    Hope this helps!!
If your phone breaks, dealing with Wirefly is a test
Obviously the Motorola V3i has a reputation of suddenly not working:

    [...]

We weren't aware of that when we purchased this phone through Amazon, via Wirefly. We received our phones last week. Yesterday, my stillness's phone just stopped working in the middle of a call between his Razr and mine. He hasn't been talented to make or receive any calls, he can't check his voicemail through his phone and his phone is plainly now a very nice paperweight with some cool ringtones.

It's not the cellular account or phone specialization, because we switched out the sim cards and his works in my phone, but mine doesn't work in his. The phone coarsely just crapped out after a week of use.

The instructions included in the box say to contact Wirefly for a Recurrence Merchandise Authorization number within 15 days of activation. I called Wirefly and, after waiting for several minutes for a bloke service rep, spoke with a man in India who was really difficult to understand. He told me that, before they could do anything about the phone, I had to association Motorola and confirm that the phone was defective. Once that was the case, I could contact Wirefly again and they would technique a return and replace the phone.

I called Motorola and explained the condition. Another person who was difficult to understand told me that my optins were to:
    a. Call Cingular to see if they could do anything to fix the uncontrollable.
    b. Take the phone to a Motorola store and have them check it over there.
    c. Send the phone in to Motorola for adjustment.

She claimed that the problem should be reparable - despite all the evidence to the contrary that I've seen online. Vulgarly, certain ones of this model of phone just stop working for no marked reason and have to be replaced.

I didn't think Cingular could do anything since it appeared to be a phone unruly and not a service issue. I also didn't want to take the time to mail the phone back to Motorola to see if there was anything they could do to fix it, so I asked for the setting of a Motorola store near me. She asked for my zip code and put it in to her search along with a 50-mile limit, and she couldn't find any locations. Attend to you, I live 20 miles away from Seattle, but her search didn't find anything and was little to searching from a specific zip code. She couldn't tell me what stores are in Washington shape or even how many Motorola stores are in the U.S.

No matter what question I asked, I would just get automatically answers from the answer sheet she was obviously referring to throughout the call. I finally gave up and moved on, next line Cingular.

Cingular Customer Service was great. They were prompt in answering the call and tried several other things to see if they could fix the problem with the phone. When none of them worked, they transferred me to Tech Prop up to see if they had any other methods that might fix the phone. When they found out that the sim card still worked in another phone and a different sim file card didn't work in this phone, they confirmed the phone itself was defective.

I explained the unruly with Wirefly, and the Tech Support Rep offered to call Wirefly while I held and endorse the defective phone so that they would process the return. It took quite a while with both of us on witter on about b hold out before he was able to speak with a Wirefly rep. Once he did that, he brought me back on the line and said he'd squared it in a different place with them and that they would help me with the return.

Unfortunately, shortly after I was reconnected to Wirefly, the rep said she needed to put me on officiate at apply to get information and would be back in 2-3 minutes. She came back from hold and said since the phone was brought from Wirefly via Amazon, I had to association Amazon about the return. She gave me Amazon's phone number.

I called Amazon, and the recording referenced their returns website. I checked it out, clicked through the fields to see what it said about returning the phone, and it referred me back to Wirefly. I was still on the phone with Amazon and got through to a Bloke Service Rep with them. She confirmed that Wirefly was responsible for replacing/returning the phone and that they have an concord with Amazon to do so, and she offered to call Wirefly with me on the line. She tried to make the call, but Wirefly's "guy service" had apparently closed for the day. Now I'm back to calling Amazon tomorrow to try to get this resolved with their relief.

Basically, Wirefly keeps giving me the runaround because, for some reason, they don't materialize to want to replace the phone with one that actually works.

The phone that *does* toil is great. We can get service in our house, which we couldn't with our last cellphone provider, and the phone is fun and has lots of huge features. And I realize that sometimes certain products don't always work and you might need to give back or exchange them. But the frustration we've experienced with a week-old phone and a company that doesn't yen to make things right is just ridiculous.

I'd never purchase anything through Wirefly again.
