Turtle-dove my F3!My partner and I both got these F3 phones, and we love them. They are everything we ever wanted in a phone - voice calls and circumscribed texting with awesome durability and battery life.
Note that we did NOT buy these phones from Amazon - we found them cheaper elsewhere ($15 each plus shipping), so we did not have any of the issues many have reported in the 1-nova reviews. Make sure you buy from a reputable source.
The phone has lots of quirky limitations, and you have to be inventive to use an address book that can only display six text characters at a time, chiefly if you are using a SIM card from a more advanced phone.
My only complaint is that I couldn't tally out a way to edit existing address book entries. The only thing you can do is off an entry and create a new one, which is a pain if you want to edit lots of contacts. I had to cut out them on my old phone to be six-character-friendly, then move the SIM card to my F3. This is the only reason I didn't give the phone 5 stars.
All-inclusive I'm just so delighted to have the cheapest and simplest new phone possible. I'm not paying for a camera, mp3 virtuoso, web browser, fancy screen, or video player, and I plan to shop-girl the "free" phones we got from T-Mobile to someone who actually wants those features.
Root phone, looks good, not for txt'ing
I like the slim measure assess and shape of this phone and it has been durable. It works well as a phone (sound grandeur, battery life). However, it has a very limited interface and some annoying aspects, such as beeping when you unexpectedly press it against things, which happens all the time. There appears to be no setting to turning off that feature or to lock the keypad. It does not store the number of missed calls reliably or intuitively. It's interface is otherwise tuneful intuitive, but also very limited. Can't beat it for this price if you need an unlocked GSM phone.
Excellent for those who just want a basic, no-frills cell phone.
I'm over 50, m hard for an honest living, drive a Jeep Wrangler and I take to the few remaining tools in life that simply WORK. The Motorola F3 is one of them. Like a Jeep, this phone is understandable, basic and built to last forever. The dual-antennas really run away in weak signals, the call volume is crisp, clear and HUGE, the speakerphone unusually stands out as useful, clear and loud as hell. It's small enough to tuck into a palm or in a horizontal belt case as I have, to keep it out of the way when I'm working.
The beauty of this tool is that it's uninvolved, cheap and useful. It makes phone calls, and that's it. No muzac, pictures, internet, texting, pictures and all the other assorted crap that kids like these era. It makes phone calls, period. If you want a toy, buy something else.
Very few people valuable simple, useful tools like this anymore. Forget about impressing anyone with this painstaking communication tool. I leave it on 24/7 and plug it in every few days. Oceans of battery power, but I do carry a charger in the work truck scarcely in case. I do recommend a slim horizonal case to keep it out of the way. The alarm clock works adroit and will get you up before the rooster. Ringtones are useful and basic, just the way I like it. I have 3 new F3's in the stand. These were discontinued in 2006. Get one while you still can.
Worthwhile replacement/transition/back-up phone
By a hair's breadth what was needed when I lost a phone. It is easy to set up if you have a little time. But not so comfortable for the less technically inclined. It's a little cluncky and not intuitive for those that want everything to toil exactly like the phone they were used to. But for the price, a good phone to have in the drawer and predict the kids not to loose their phone or they'll have to use this one.

Wonderful-Locked PhoneThis phone is wonderful-locked, means can be used with only active sim card. I purchased this phone as standby and for journeys purpose. You can not used camera or fm radio without active sim card. I have several locked old phone, both gsm and cdma. I can use camera, music entertainer, fm etc without any sim card or active service. I tried installing my old inactive sim business card, but this phone is not accepting it. And without active sim card it will not turn on. I can get better and permitted phone with service.
The SLVR L6i
For use facing the United States especially in Africa, one always needs a quad orchestra unlocked cell phone like this one. I ordered and received two of these from Amazon and shipped them to my persons in Africa. They received them with joy and they jumped into jubilation when they put in their sim card and it started working at once without ant entanglement like decoding or anything like that. And they made a call from it to me here in the US. Amazing isn't it? One cousin was even crazy about the faculties of the phone to receive the local FM radio transmission in Africa.
So then for the L6i to be described as an "Foreign Version", was proved right when my folks got their phone working. However for use in the US please go for the striking L6 without the 'i'. Hahahaaaaaa!!!
For People traveling outside the US and for those who are here on a short visit if you are looking for gifts for friends and one's nearest I strongly recommend this low-priced phone with camera, internet, organizer, SD niche, and FM Radio. I bought some for my friends and they are in use right now. Please buy one or more today.
Huge phone, except for the reception
I regard as this is a great phone. It's pretty neat. But it is very much a "made in China" phone,m so the characteristic seems a little poor. But the only that I couldn't stand was the poor reception it has. Sometimes, it goes into "danger call" only mode because it can't pickup my provider (AT&T) which I usually have great signal in my arena.

The phone representation says it is a quad band phone, but the one I received was tri-band (900/1800/1900). This oecumenical version does not work everywhere I need it to work. I have AT&T service (3G) and it works in NYC, where I line, but it did not work in upstate NY. The network in upstate NY switches from 3G to EDGE. If it had 850 bunch, it would have worked. The phone itself is a decent phone, but if doesn't work, it doesn't occurrence. Amazon's description is not accurate, so if you need a quad band phone be wary of this phone. You might be better off getting a US version instead.
It's ok
This isn't the best clothes phone in the world but it will do. It has a lot of problems with reception; I have a contract with ATT and broke my phone, this phone was a replacement for the old one. The unmanageable, however, is that this phone does not get reception where my old phone used to. Plus the greeting fades in and out.
