Nokia e71 intelligent phone
A tremendous phone! I had (and lost) a Nokia e71X. Replaced it with the e71. The e71x is the AT&T customized variant. There is so much crap-ware and other junk on the e71x. There are also many things locked out or disabled on the e71x.
The e71 does NOT have anything locked out, nor any of the crap-ware/hot-air balloon-ware stuff that the e71x does. I highly recommend the e71 to anyone currently using the e71x. I also authoritatively recommend the e71 to anyone looking for a smart phone.
This is a well built, durable and marvellous phone. The cellular radio sections work flawlessly. I shelter't found anything yet on the e71 that I don't like (unlike the e71x). At the time I lost the e71x, I thought it was a disaster, but in accomplishment it was a lucky break which allowed me to get the e71 which is a superior phone in every way.

Okay...so I remain in Japan and up until recently I had an iPod touch and an NTT DoCoMo handset. I was using the iPod as my organizer and the handset was simply a phone. I am military and decided that a world phone would be a good position for me and my research brought me to the E71. After reading the feature list I was without hesitation sold and I ordered one. What I was not aware of though was the differences between 3G frequencies and how it would affect my purchase in the extensive run.
Japan uses 3G 2100 Mhz (NTT DoCoMo)...so that is strike 1 for this construct of the E71. Be aware that there are 3 versions of the E71 available. The US version will NOT WORK IN ASIA because many seating in asia do not use GSM but WCDMA or 3G for the most part. The US version does not have the bandwidth required to ply here. Additionally, Japan in particular uses the 3G network for both data AND declare comms. There IS NO GSM in Japan...they simply don't use it. Anyway...now that I have cleared that up... I bought a help E71, the international version, and I use it here and it works marvelously!! I Infatuation this phone. The 3 variants of this phone are the E71-1 (US), E71-2 (Australia/Asia), and E71-3 (Eur/Asia). I have a -1 and a -3 and am currently using the -3 here in Japan. To further elucidate the networks here...there are other service providers that offer 3g as well, but they are in the 1700Mhz range while others still use an older 2g system known as phs that is also not like-minded with this phone.
Now...if you've read the other reviews about this phone, you already know that it's great. I'm not thriving to bore you by repeating their statements, just know that this phone is absolutely worth the money you will shell out for it but be aware that dependent upon where you are going to go if that be the case, you will need to purchase the applicable version for the region you will be in. If you're traveling to Europe it will only be a agent for you when trying to access data services via 3G...voice comms will be genuine since it's a quad band phone and nearly all of Europe uses GSM. I have heard that Edgy/GPRS capabilities may circumvent this but I can't speak to that effect due to lack of sophistication/knowledge.
Japan and Korea though in particular will require that you have the -2 or -3 view or you will be left with a glorified MP3 player/PDA with a QWERTY keyboard.
Additionally, if you will be in Japan large term, the only way you will be able to use this phone here is to contract with Softbank or DoCoMo and buy one of their entr level cheap handsets and pop the sim card out of it and put it into the E71. There is a catch though...you'll have to purchasing the data package known as "pake hodai double" in structure to not get raped on your monthly bill when it comes to your data rates. Since you are not using a DoCoMo handset the cap on your figures bill will be about 60 bucks higher than if you use your DoCoMo phone. I guess they can show gratitude that it's not a "company" handset probably as a result of the IMEI number on the phone that I presume is somehow detectable by the local network. You will also lose the ability to use a docomo web mail greet but all you have to do is open an Ovi account at Nokia's website and then install Emoze on your phone. Once you wedlock the ovi mail account and Emoze you have webmail on your phone again. You'll also need to get Mopera from docomo for your observations services...and no, they won't tell you the settings to input...you'll have to muddle through it yourself.
Sorry so over-long, but I hope that helped someone to buy the "right" version of this phone.

Spacious DeviceThe whole phone is great, everything is proportionate and sort of just works well together, did I reference this thing is thin? The E71 and it looks very sharp and easy on the eyes. Screen trustworthy estate isn't a problem at all, there's a decent amount of contrast when looking at media, and you'll outstandingly appreciate the screen during some heavy web browsing. It seems louder than the E61 and it's pretty fresh for ringtones and alert sounds. Music sounds fine on it, but it's not true. Bass is seriously lacking and you do get a "tinny" sort of sound. It is very, very snazzy, though, so you can be sure that alarm is going to get you out of bed in the morning. The messaging application had a short bit of a visual makeover, and it's for the better. Text is extremely readable and emails look worthy. If there is one negative to the E71 it's the keyboard, just a lot smaller. They're also not as squishy which is nice, and they're reasonably easy to press once you get it down. Nokia and call quality go together like ham and burger. Kool-Aid and sugar, the E71 doesn't balk.
Sweetie this phone
I dont do to many reviews but i warmth this phone so i figured i would. For me this phone does everything i need. Fast downloads on either 3g or apprehensive network. Range with the wifi is unreal. This thing picks up wifi ALOT farther than my laptop or my ipod foment. It really surprised me. Its nice to because you can choose if you want to use at&t or wifi consistency before you access the web. Build quality is very good. Its got some weight to it, not to much but enough that it feels very well built. I've had this phone about a month now and i have not one gripe. I always liked Nokia phones, they get great reception and are built well and this phone is no blockage. In a world of crap phones from LG, Samsung and Motorola, i'm really joyful I got the Nokia.

With greatest satisfaction Phone Ever!
THis is the win out over phone I ever had. I had around 12 mobile phones in my life, and this is definitely the subdue one.
The down side of the version that amazon sells is that only comes in english, pilipino and melayu. If they merchandise the version as "Internaitonal", thay should get a version that at lease has spanish and english languaje, to from others of course. But well, nothing is perfect...

I have been fraud on NOKIA in the last 2 years with LG and Palm. I am sorry NOKIA this will never happened again. You cognizant of what they say about the cars. Once you own and drive Mercedes that's it there is no other car can satisfy you. Same with NOKIA about phones. There is no more to ask in the phone that E71 can bid you. I guaranty once you open the box that's it you are in love and as soon as you touch it the love become unconditional. I will squeak you what. iPhone, Palm, LG , G1 or what ever phones look like prehistoric disquieting stones compare to the NOKIA E71. About the functions I have only one world. Symbian OS. The residents who's know and looking for good reliable product will know what I am talking about. I am satisfied and I know I will be happy in the future with the E71 as I was happy with my NOKIA communicator for years. I have no Cons for this phone. If you penury more then what this phone can offer, you need to buy a laptop computer and stick it in your ear. One more thing. The EURO E71 doesn't have some of the HSDPA frequencies that US requires. You trouble to buy the US model in order to be in 3G networks in USA. Yes US are always behind the mobile technologies.
An fantastic phone, for Europe and Asia
As other reviewers wrote, this is a Europe/Asia paragon (the E71-1 RM-346 to be precise). If you want to use it mainly in US you should take a E71-2 (e.g. the US interpretation) so you can use the US 3G. If you need a phone for Europe or Asia, this is a good deal because with the widespread currency rate it's cheaper here than anything I've seen in Europe.
The one I have came from Philippines. The instructions is in English and the language can be set either in English or Philippines languages. The AC adapter is the same form as US/Japan, and it accepts anything from 100V to 230V.
There are already a lot of reviews about this product, but here is what I rapture in it, in a nutshell:
* SIP (VOIP) is integrated to the system, so you can very easily initiate a VOIP call (lately by typing a number or from your address book). Very convenient to make penny-pinching international call when you're on a WiFi
* The battery life is amazing
* It's very responsive
* It's thin and slim but the keyboard is still very usable

Reputable featurd phone given its price but durability remains a have relationI received this phone as a baksheesh in September 2009. Everything worked and if you asked me 2 weeks ago I would give it a 4 star.
2 weeks a ago all of a impulsive the touch screen stopped responding to tapping (finger or stylus) and I inferior it's totally unresponsive! I didn't drop it or pour water over it when it stopped working (orthodox office/home usage is how I would classify my usage pattern). The only fashion is good for is the receiving call via physical button - which renders this phone wholly useless unlike other keypad phone even if something dosen't work.
I cannot make amends for any data because connection via USB requires tapping - mere 9 months of ordinary use and the touch screen is dead - I would not get a Samsung phone for a long leisure.
Circumspect of International models
I bought one of these for a Spanish speaking compatriot and it came with English and a few obscure Asian language interfaces so I could not give the grant because she can not read English. You would think any S5233 international version should have Spanish as an recourse

Fine fantastic phone!
If you don't covet to re-up your contract or if you are just looking to replace your current phone, this phone is Brobdingnagian for messaging, gets great reception and has lots of fun features to underscore around with. I use this phone mainly for messaging and email and find that the keyboard is very easy to use and the small screen is a good size for reading messages you receive. The only complaint that I have is that there isn't a way to patch up the volume easily while you are talking on the phone because they removed the side volume bar. Other than that, this phone is wonderful!!
