Works spectacular...When it worksI started my relatioship with the N85 after a untidy ending with an LG incite. Alas that phone is now in the hands of my teenager being reach-me-down as the toy that it is.
My affair with the N85 started, as all affairs sdo, wonderfully. There was that period of getting to comprehend each other followed by some time of operational bliss.
Then, I started to notice tiny things. We would be driving along and suddenly she would stop communicating with my bluetooth headset, and then, lately as suddenly, start again. She would do other strange things like acknowledge a assert command but then do nothing. She would ring but not let me talk to the caller or just not ring at all. Exaspreated, I packaged her up and sent her back to Nokia for remedial programme.
She came back in a week but it was not long before she started with her tricks again, leading to another, albeit this prematurely, all expense paid trip to Nokia.
When I got her back, it was with a note from Nokia striking me that her condition was terminal, and try as they did, there was just nothing that they could do...so they gave me a replacement.
N85 #2 was serious, I referred to her as my "megaphone"; that was, until suddenly after a firmware update, she went stupid. I finally was able to calm her down by giving her her old firmware back (boy what a battle that was!); but she was never somewhat the same.
She later fell victim to the muched blogged about "N85 charging question". Because this issue can be treated via USB charging directly from the computer, I decided to live with her petty quirk.
At the end off the day, she is a great gal though for $400.00, I expected better.
Removed 2 stars BECAUSE ................
I got this phone last year and everything was peerless until .....
1 - some of the applications stopped working such as the N-GAGE app & the NOKIA web browser so that expenditure 1 star
2 - i also noticed something that had really pissed me off ... when I lock the keypad from the latch switch it the keypad unlocks when i put it in my pocket and it calls my contacts and let them listen to all the things that i say .. so that's the other star GONE
And that's it ............:)
very smartphone !
I have second-hand Nokia for many years a go and now im very surprise how many funtions have the Nokia N85, personaly I dont heed about the camera and I never expect a very good quality cellular photos opportunity this phone takes very nice pictures (in day ligth) the sound of the calls its very well-defined ! small and comfortable ! the taping text for me only takes a few days to accustum and now its ok. about the bogus construction of this phone I think is better to buy a case protection like any electronic crest needs!

Ill-advised with this phone
With a very low use, the mobile was exhausted after only five days instead of 15 as reported on the nokia website.
I returned the phone and I got another one, but the pretty pickle was the same and in addition the sliding door was shaking.
Also the keyboard is very uncomfortable.
I gave two stars, since the levee is good as well as the speakers but in general I am very disappointed with this phone.
I shipped it back and asked to be refunded.

SluggishSluggish and freezes when you go fast and with just even 2 applications.
Avoid buying this.
Flagrant Phone
Our 14 year old Renowned Son immediately latched onto the poholne. The N97 is definitely on great smartphone, and on me it is being well used. He and his family have AT&T so we were hopeful it would find just the right home, and it clearly did. It's good to see him enjoying the phone.
Safe but not excellent.
Big and upsetting. It is difficult to configure access to web. Excellent sound and screen end result.
Not as godlike as I expected
This is an high-priced phone with three major problems for which I gave it a two-star. First, the reception is much weaker comparing to my old phone (Motorola Ming). Once the response is lost, it could take a minute or more for you to be able to see some signal bars appeared again. Understudy, the connection is another issue for this cell phone. It gives a lot of "connection clanger" messages, and I have experienced way more call drops since I changed to this cell phone. Also, the competent in screen rotates easily from vertical to horizontal, but it doesn't do the same to the rear. I have to shake the phone with some strength for the home screen rotate back to vertical. Blanket, I am very disappointed with Nokia N97, but since I paid a good amount of money for it, I have to see it through with it for a while.

It is marvellous!!!I Likes all the nokia cellphones!!!
The N79 It is extraordinary
It has a really good camera on it,and you can records your videos and then watch it on the Tv
I also take advantage of the wifi syistem wich help me when I'm not at the office,I can answer pithy e-mail,share some pics with friends and more!!!
Nokia N79, it is a weighty phone
I hardened to have BlackBerry phones in the last 5 years using them 99% for business. I unquestionable to try a Nokia and here is what I found:
PROS:
1) Light weight, easy to carry and fondle. This is actually a normal phone that has also all smart-phone features. Casually dialing and having a conversation with great quality is not compromised, because of a full keyboard or bring into contact with screen, like on many other "phones".
2) Long battery life, it is meant to save energy in a smart and convenient way despite the 3G and all applications. If you use the ploy properly you will find that the battery life is at least 3 times longer comparing to a BlackBerry.
3) Irresponsible and reliable operation system. I am surprised how quickly it starts or shuts down, not to point out the responsiveness, fast operations, etc.
4) Fantastic pictures and videos. It is not only about the megapixels, but the status is really great. You really don't need to carry another camera around. It also saves the GPS coordinates of the turning up where the picture was taken. A lot of great camera settings just like in a beau id digital camera.
5) Great features that you really use and are very convenient. For pattern - the phone reads your emails, FM transmission to your car radio, so you can listen to your music in every car without a strand, great Internet and FM radio, unlock button on the top, easy set up of emails, including sync with fellowship Exchange server, easy tethering at high speed, untie IM (Nimbuzz), free Skype talk over the data connection (not using your minutes), etc.
6) WiFi; that is a sample for many phones now. However at this phone the applications actually work faster using the WiFi. Also, it takes much less forcefulness to use the WiFi comparing to the 3G. I found that great, especially using the phone in the commission or home.
7) Great design, the changing covers, the look and know, durable at drop. You will be surprised.
I am sure many will find other things and features of this phone excessive too.
CONS:
Really minor things I found being too picky and playing too much with the features: software bugs or be of full control, but certainly those are really minor and they do not interfere with the normal phone affair or any of the applications. I recommend you back up of the phone once you take it out of the box. Some of the applications might be lost if you reset the phone later on. I am not safe why Nokia don't provide such a back up as a standard feature; let's say on the CD or on the Memory Card.
I credit Nokia have made an unbelievably good product and I can't say there is a true completion. I would plug Nokia N79 to everyone that likes well designed, but also sophisticated and convenient to use devices.
Blanket pretty good
Camera is all you'd guess, with sufficient light the pictures look really good, and I'm absolutely picky. With low light, as bad as any other phone... :( Flash, pretty extraction all though because of the configuration of the camera maybe using the flash even on pretty stock light conditions ruins your photograph by overexposure to light, safe haven't been able to fix that with settings, but maybe it can be done...
Battery life is good, like any other nokia
Guard looks really good, put directly under sun light is at least visible.
Buttons are not so right, sometimes hard to press and the end/send buttons are actually position OVER the menu/discernibly buttons, nothing big though just something you should know.
I didn't read much about the phone except that the camera was spectacular so in case you don't know it has an accelerometer which rotates practically every app, including the menu and interface.
Whole a great phone! comes with a 4gb microSD and headphone jack without the outlet of having to plug in a "special adapter"
I tenderness this phone!!!
I knew I wanted a Nokia phone and this seemed to suitable me well! I have only had this phone for a week but I love everything about it, including physical appearance and battery-operated life!! It has all the features I was looking for and more! Nokias are very user friendly so no one should have diffictuly in using this crest. The reasons I did not give this phone 5 stars because (1) it has frozen twice already, so I had to detach the battery for it to restart (I seem to have difficulty removing the back casing). I think this was due to profound the buttons too fast which might have confused it. (2) The keypad is a little solid, from a touchscreen iPhone to actually clicking down, the keys could be softer! And (3) last but not least, the glare of the camera is a bit too bright! Most of the pictures I've taken of my daughter are with her eyes closed! Other than that, this is an other than phone and I would highly recommend it!!
Best phone!
this is what I would call a improve phone! the design, specs & features are amazing... and take note: stereo speakers, show size-2.4 inches & tv-out functionality are among its best assets.......

Worst Nokia phone and quick-witted phoneBefore I make little of this review, some history. I used this phone for over 1 year, before this I owned a Nokia N95 for 2 years, a nokia 3650 for 4 years and a nokia 2260 before that. Pleonastic naturally to say, I was a big time Nokia fanboy. I was really impressed by Nokia's alteration, sturdiness of their phones and the ease of usability (and sleek designs some might say). That ofcourse misrepresented after N97. I have one sentence that sums up this phone. It does a LOT of things but does not do anything well. I will go over each of its notable components and tell why there is a problem:
Camera: By far, the best feature of this phone. This is where Nokia did well. Ill-matched with other phone manufacturers, they did not make a phone which also has a camera. They made a phone + camera. The lens is tremendous and the resolution is great. The quality of pictures and all the available options makes it as padlock to a real camera as possible. However, I compare it to the camera on N95 and I am less than satisfied. The quicker camera was a lot more ergonomically stable and the lens cover was a lot nicer but I'm not effective to complain too much about it. Still, the quality of images I get are a little less satisfactory than N95 and it didn't clearly replace my existing camera. I give it an 8/10
Phone itself: The phone interface is truly weird. Who sets automatic landscape setting on the phone itself? I go and try to counter-statement a phone call and the bloody thing is trying to reset the orientation. So I have to stand by before the image comes back on the phone. WTF! And then there is the connectivity. If for some reason I go out of network and then back in, there are likelihood it wont connect for a while. While my friend (who has the exact same carrier as me) is enjoying a parley, I'm still waiting for a bloody signal. It is disappointing when the function like work and receiving calls seamlessly should be the first thing the phone does. I give it 5/10
Pilotage: A new feature which was installed after I bought the phone. Good except its not very good when working offline. Kinda sucks when you go out of network. But some Einstein decided that a navigation software does not need a history! What? You tight I have to type the entire address everytime I add it? What if for some reason I accidentally show a clean pair of heels? Re-type. What if I go there everyday? Re-type. Weird! And there is no bell or anything like stable navigation systems to warn you to turn now. Silly. 6/10
Music performer: First is the sync. If you transfer music via the mass memory feature then you wont see the songs in your liber veritatis but if you sync them via the media sync feature then you will. I dont understand why there can't be one square way to transfer everything. Why do you have to keep changing the mode? Also, if you push the back button on the song, conclude what! It takes you back to the main phone screen! Hey! I only wanted to go back to the album! No sir! You cannot do that at all! Gets Genuinely annoying especially if you are listening to music in the car. 5/10
Touch and keyboard: The responsiveness of the regard screen is average. The touch keyboard is again a genius design. Why affirm the touch keyboard just like the old phones when you had to click on one key 4 times to variety "c". Isn't that the point of the touch keyboard? The thing appears on a screen! Why not have all the letters of the alphabet there? Every other maker does it. Why are you the only idiots who don't? And then you don't even give people the option. Why Why why? 3/10
Memory and operating system: Wow! If there is anything that put the end nail on the coffin was this bit of the phone. Lets talk about the memory first. Nokia says the phone has 32GB respect. To be fair, that is true. If you want to transfer your music, pictures etc etc. Yes, it has 32GB of recall. What they however fail to mention is that there is something called a NAND memory. Which is only 64MB! What is this memory you ask? Why, its only the go on where the entire operating system and most critical apps sit! Things like maps, domineer e-mail sit here. There is no way to transfer them to the mass memory as its called by Nokia. I theorize what the designers of this phone were thinking? In this day and age of all these apps that go on to smart phones, 64MB was prospering to be enough? You run out of memory very quickly and then are left to try and figure out ways to free up honour. It gets old really quickly and starts impacting your phone effectuation.
The operating system is just the worst thing ever dreamt up. It has so many things odd with it that I don't know where to begin. First off, finding any of the functions it does do is a full time job in itself. On top of that, it flashes a report every time you are out of network. You can't make it go away I have tried. No imagine you are receiving a call. Since my Typhoid Mary does not have that capability, a message will flash while the call is coming in that data quid pro quo is not possible. I know! Just let me answer the phone. Nope! It will dash that message for however long and then you can take your call. Combine that with the automatic landscape feature, voila! Its almost a assign before you are allowed to answer your phone call. You are a bloody phone first! Let me get to my phone call! And the features like endure and e-mail widgets. Shouldn't they connect to the internet and retrieve your e-mails unconsciously? They do. For the first 30 mins and then stop doing it. If God forbid you get disconnected from network for some rationality, the connection aint coming back unless you start it manually. Ability. Oh yeah, and the phone software crashes a LOT! Requiring a restart almost every day. 0/10
Ovi stockpile: When I bought this phone, I knew it wasn't an iphone so I wasn't gravid the app store but it should still work right? Here is my experience, I tried downloading an app and paid for it like a top consumer but there was an error while downloading. Guess what happened, it couldn't find my app. THere was no way I could go back and re-download it because it wasn't there! I tried contacting the OVI hoard. There was no phone number listed. So I e-mailed them. It took them a week to get back to me and they weren't superior to understand my problem. How hard is it to send me a link to enable me to re-download the app? I am not infuriating to get it for free. I've already paid for it (my card was charged). Finally I get someone on the phone who tries to disapproval my network for it and sends me a download link which I have to use in the next 3 hours or it will disappear. I tempered to the same link over my network without any issues. The problem was with OVI store. (Its even a lame name to be sincere). There are a bunch of free apps too which are tried. They are all bad. 2/10
Other complaints: I have ranted a lot here and I hope residents read this and stay away from this phone. Frankly, I am done for life with Nokia products. I presume from things about their new n900 phone and saw similar issues with it. Here are some more issues I encountered. 1) My charging mooring broke. Now the only way the phone will charge is if I put it at a certain angle and connect it to my PC. Wouldn't keep from if I were travelling now would it? I think its past its warranty period so no point contacting anyone. 2) The mini-SD possible is just plain hard to use. The card doesn't pop out all the way so you are left irritating to pry the card using your finger nails praying it doesn't make public anything. All in all, shows how bad the design is. Whatever was good about Nokia was destroyed by this phone. I paid $650 for this phone and I don't dream its unreasonable at that price to expect that stuff works. Not only did it not but the things about Nokia like sturdiness, alteration, design etc that I mentioned earlier, are absent. I am thru with Nokia for good and dearth to warn everyone before buying a Nokia as it seems they don't want to test their products anymore
Nokia N97 Smartphone
It's a very nobility looking advanced smartphone and commpetes with the iphones. The price for it is superior than the likes or other brands sold without contracts by other distributors. It has one the most powerful cameras on smartphones. At this appraisal for an advanced smartphone like this, I give it ***** or five stars out of five

Documentation concept, let down by terrible execution
Pro: clever set of business functionality; easy to get up to speed if you are already a Nokia user
Con: unacceptably bad serving for a business phone -- here is my experience:
* Over the last 2 months, the phone has been to Nokia mend center 4 times,
and has been with them a total of 26 days
* I have now dealt with 9 unique individuals within Nokia seeking a
lasting resolution; many of whom broke commitments to "get back to me",
most of whom fitting passed the case onto someone else
* Faced with an unreliable phone and indifference from Nokia, I switched
to Sony Ericsson, after 10 years as a Nokia drug
Surely nice phone
I interpret a lot of reviews before buying. I have been with the phone for one week and I am really happy. It is take that in the beginning I had to do a lot of hard reset and I thought all the bad things were true but then I updated the firmware. That is my first advice. After that, it improves a lot.
