    Don't wipe out your money
I purchased this holding of crap because I didn't want to commit to a service plan. This exemplar was supposed to be compatible with AT&T service. When I took my Xpressmusic cell phone into an practiced AT&T dealer, the service rep said they were unable to use this phone because it had a restricted standards and their PUK could not gain access into my unit. I called Nokia and they said it is the dependability of the service provider to overide this code. What a circle jerk! The headset keeps falling out of my ears. The sound is average at best. The prize was very high for what you get. Now, all I can do is listen to music on it. What a waste of money. I will never buy another Nokia artefact. Now I know why their stock price is trading at an all time low. They'll probably be out of busniess or bought up by another opponent soon.
    es una basura!!!
HACE 13 AÑOS QUE USO NOKIA Y NUNCA TUVE PROBLEMAS HASTA EL AÑO PASADO QUE DECIDÍ COMPRAR EL MALDITO N96, SE TILDA, EL TIEMPO DE RESPUESTA PARA ABRIR LAS APLICACIONES ES LENTO. ME CAMBIARON 4 VECES EL CELULAR Y SIGUE FALLANDO.
NO TIREN SU DINERO COMPREN OTRA MARCA.
Nokia N96 Unlocked is one of the Unexcelled on the Market
I purchsed the Nokia N96 from Amazon.com. I own a Nokia N93 and a Nokia N95. The Nokia N96 is the unmixed best Cell Phone I've ever owned. I travel overseas on a proper basis and this phone easily switches networks seamlessly. Unbiased pop any sim card in and go ahead. You will not have any trouble. The 5MP camera is great (could use a zenon lens). Internet browsing is in fact simple and powerful. All in all this is one of the best phones on the market, and at the price you can get in for on Amazon it is such a bargin. I Dear one THIS PHONE!
Could have been a lot more...
I unqualifiedly, REALLY wanted to like the Nokia N96. My Samsung i320 is getting a bit crave in the tooth, and I thought this would be a perfect replacement. With the feature-list, how could it not be? Unprejudiced multimedia capabilities? Check. Speedy web browsing? Check. WiFi? Interruption. High-resolution camera (for a phone)? Check. 3G compatibility? Limit. 16GB of storage? Check. FM Radio?!? Check! The N96 would allegedly have it all. Unfortunately, a few glaring oversights and performance issues have left me sense cold.

The first thing that I couldn't help but notice was the Symbian OS. It's perceptible and dated at this point, especially when you compare it to some of the newer offerings from Apple, Google (Robot) and even Microsoft (yeah, my i320, an older Windows smartphone runs rings around this, wretchedly). This phone is just SLOW. Accessing data is slow, the layout of the OS is Dull-witted (as in counterproductive, having to press several things to get to a menu option that should be attainable in two), and generally it just kind of stutters along regardless of what you throw at it. I don't skilled in if this is the fault of poorly written code or if the thing is just way too extravagant for the hardware spec of the phone, but it basically makes using the phone a repeated fling.

As far as the hardware itself goes, it looks impressive enough, nice and shiny, although the finish feeling is a little cheaper than you'd expect a $500 device to feel. The screen is refined and the interface buttons feel pretty good (it's just a outstrip the phone doesn't respond a bit more quickly when you press them).

Pictures are another ground that are supposed to be a strong point for this phone (high resolution for a cubicle phone), but again, slow-down and sloppy layout hinder its usefulness. The photos look nice enough, but don't expect this thing to be point and shoot ready. It's going to take a few seconds for it to become deft, and then getting your picture where you want it to be is another one of those patience-builders.

Basically I about the N96 is just a case of Nokia being way too aggressive with its feature-set in order to vie with the aforementioned mobile platforms. The feature list is very impressive, but the implementation and scene is so mediocre that the phone is hard to recommend. That mediocre performance coupled with a appraisal tag that's higher than a lot of the competition means the N96 will more than likely end up as an also-ran rather than a stand-out.
    Cyclopean phone..awesome features
delightful phone..great cool features... and an excellent offshoot from nokia for the people who are tired of touchscreen devices....

    genial phone, but
I undeniably enjoyed my N85, but they break easy. I tripped over the charging rope, didn't break the cord, but I broke the mini usb in the phone. My blunder, but the exact thing happen with other phones, no problem. But as I said, I actually enjoyed the phone anyway
can nokia communicate non working phones ?
This one role goes to Nokia as a company, not to the phone because I did not have the chance to use it. It came unusable from plant!.
Also, five stars to Amazon because they have a really great return policy and easy to dedicate procedures.

I still cannot believe that a big company like Nokia does not have a grandeur test on its production line to avoid things like this from taking place.

The phone was delivered by Amazon but the seller was Nokia itself. It came on a sealed package deal, and after putting in and charging the battery, the display did not work.

At the beginning, I though I was taciturn enough to not understand how to power on the phone. But after a few tests and talking with Nokia stick, it was clear that the phone worked, but the display did not.
I was able to hear it carouse music, and to take pictures with flash, just pushing buttons impetuously.

Although phone functionalities looks great, this experience has taken to a different place the trust I had on Nokia. Having today so many choices to buy a cell phone with eager functionalities and design from a variety of companies, I will put my money and confidence on companies who takes patron experience a little bit seriously.
    Approving phone, but not impressed
I've been inadequate one of these phones (or other similar models) ever since it came out. Since it was pretty expensive at the day one, I waited, when I finally had it in my hands this Christmas I was not impressed. Don't get me wrong, it's a profitable phone--very fast at processing, duel sliding, well finished face, EXCELLENT camera (something I wish to have on my iPhone), and clear calls. But the software wasn't very perceptive, sometimes difficult to find certain functions. Buttons weren't all that easy to entreat on, wish can be charged by USB. If you are looking for a phone for basic features like MP3, take some pictures, and sterling reception with clear speakerphone, then this is for you, but then you probably could get something much cheaper or free from your porter.
    Wonderful
I've had the phone for six months and am absolutely satisfied. I'm amazed at the number or features
in this small package. All the features exertion as advertised except the FM transmitter in my 4Runner, probably because the car's antenna is, I believe, in the back mirror. I moved up from a n75 which had terrible battery life; the N85 is, maybe,
    five times wiser.
On a side note, I dropped the phone and it would no longer charge. I thought the phone was out
of agreement, but on calling NokiaUSA to see about getting it repaired, it wasn't. They immediately
eMailed me a UPS shipping denominate and directions. I took the bare phone to a UPS store and they took
it packaged it and sent it on its way. One week later a new phone showed up at my entryway. No money out of my pocket. In the future I'll need a real good remonstrate with to buy any other brand of phone. Also, the replacement's fit is about the same. That is to say, there is a small amount of play in the slider parts.
Of surely, there has to be some play for parts to slide under different temperature conditions.
    I don't find this a mind-boggler.
    "Founder" sums it up nicely
I categorically wanted to love the Nokia N85. But after 6 months of using this phone, all I can intend of is the many ways it has failed me.

I bought the phone for it's all-in-one features, phone, email, gps, music jock, camera, games, even the FM radio. Just about every one of those features has not lived up to expectations. I brought the phone on my honeymoon in Europe to take pictures and video, use the internet when I had wifi, and chronometer some movies during my downtime on trains and planes. Unfortunately about halfway through the expedition, my memory card somehow became corrupt and all my videos were gone. By the end of the trip, well-founded about all the images and videos I took over the two weeks had been lost. Just gone, *poof*. Luckily I was accomplished to retrieve the images using a windows program to retrieve gone by the board images from a corrupt memory card, but the videos are gone forever.

The music gamester is nice when it works, but it too somehow became corrupt, and none of my music appears in my library any longer. The only way to wing it belittle those songs is to use the file browser to navigate to the folder where the song is saved and fool around each song individually.

Sometimes the phone gets in a state where it will not make any calls from the contacts listing or recent calls. The only way to dial is to manually type in a number -- the only way to fix this is to reboot. The most vital feature of this device, making calls, is broken. Go figure.

I downloaded the bother for Age of Empires III through N-gage to try out the gaming features of the phone. After I played the quarry and exited, I could not launch any other application on the phone until I rebooted.

The camera sign is so incredibly bright that if I take a picture of anyone, they are always squinting. (The flash comes on before the shutter in serenity to focus).

The one bright spot of this phone is the quality of the video recordings. They are very severe and clear, with good stabilisation to make up for shaky hands. The quiet of the device is just one disappointment after another. Nokia needs to do a way better job of distinction control and testing of their firmware before releasing a product like this.

    It is dazzling!!!
I Likes all the nokia cellphones!!!

    The N79 It is stunning
It has a really good camera on it,and you can records your videos and then watch it on the Tv
I also from the wifi syistem wich help me when I'm not at the office,I can answer all in all e-mail,share some pics with friends and more!!!
Nokia N79, it is a accomplished phone
I acclimated to to have BlackBerry phones in the last 5 years using them 99% for business. I decisive to try a Nokia and here is what I found:
    PROS:
    1) Light weight, easy to carry and caress. This is actually a normal phone that has also all smart-phone features. Restful dialing and having a conversation with great quality is not compromised, because of a full keyboard or bring up screen, like on many other "phones".
    2) Long battery life, it is expected to save energy in a smart and convenient way despite the 3G and all applications. If you use the mechanism properly you will find that the battery life is at least 3 times longer comparing to a BlackBerry.
    3) Self-denial and reliable operation system. I am surprised how quickly it starts or shuts down, not to cite the responsiveness, fast operations, etc.
    4) Fantastic pictures and videos. It is not only about the megapixels, but the standing is really great. You really don't need to carry another camera around. It also saves the GPS coordinates of the locale where the picture was taken. A lot of great camera settings just like in a example digital camera.
    5) Great features that you really use and are very convenient. For benchmark - the phone reads your emails, FM transmission to your car radio, so you can listen to your music in every car without a wire, great Internet and FM radio, unlock button on the top, easy set up of emails, including sync with associates Exchange server, easy tethering at high speed, rid IM (Nimbuzz), free Skype talk over the data connection (not using your minutes), etc.
    6) WiFi; that is a gauge for many phones now. However at this phone the applications actually work faster using the WiFi. Also, it takes much less energy to use the WiFi comparing to the 3G. I found that huge, especially using the phone in the office or home.
    7) Great create, the changing covers, the look and feel, durable at drop. You will be surprised.
I am indubitable many will find other things and features of this phone great too.
    CONS:
Really schoolgirl things I found being too picky and playing too much with the features: software bugs or shortage of full control, but certainly those are really minor and they do not interfere with the normal phone employee or any of the applications. I recommend you back up of the phone once you take it out of the box. Some of the applications might be lost if you reset the phone later on. I am not reliable why Nokia don't provide such a back up as a standard feature; let's say on the CD or on the Memory Card.

I find credible Nokia have made an unbelievably good product and I can't say there is a true completion. I would advisable Nokia N79 to everyone that likes well designed, but also sophisticated and convenient to use devices.
    All-embracing pretty good
Camera is all you'd count on, with sufficient light the pictures look really good, and I'm indeed picky. With low light, as bad as any other phone... :( Flash, pretty origin all though because of the configuration of the camera maybe using the flash even on pretty origin light conditions ruins your photograph by overexposure to light, protection't been able to fix that with settings, but maybe it can be done...

Battery life is good, like any other nokia
Television looks really good, put directly under sun light is at least visible.
Buttons are not so safe, sometimes hard to press and the end/send buttons are actually position OVER the menu/well-defined buttons, nothing big though just something you should know.

I didn't read much about the phone except that the camera was brilliant so in case you don't know it has an accelerometer which rotates practically every app, including the menu and interface.

All-inclusive a great phone! comes with a 4gb microSD and headphone jack without the subject of having to plug in a "special adapter"
    I lover this phone!!!
I knew I wanted a Nokia phone and this seemed to prayer me well! I have only had this phone for a week but I love everything about it, including physical appearance and freestyle life!! It has all the features I was looking for and more! Nokias are very user friendly so no one should have diffictuly in using this manoeuvre. The reasons I did not give this phone 5 stars because (1) it has frozen twice already, so I had to expunge the battery for it to restart (I seem to have difficulty removing the back casing). I think this was due to profound the buttons too fast which might have confused it. (2) The keypad is a little immovable, from a touchscreen iPhone to actually clicking down, the keys could be softer! And (3) last but not least, the zoom of the camera is a bit too bright! Most of the pictures I've taken of my daughter are with her eyes closed! Other than that, this is an ripsnorting excepting phone and I would highly recommend it!!
    Accomplish phone!
this is what I would call a perfect phone! the composition, specs & features are amazing... and take note: stereo speakers, magnificence size-2.4 inches & tv-out functionality are among its best assets.......
